Fashion

It always seems like the fashion industry is two steps ahead when it comes to the latest trends. Before you know it, you are done buying the trendy boots for fall (and now wearing them!) and you are looking forward to what the hottest stylish heels and wedge shoes will be for spring of next year. And there’s already a ton of trends popping up that you’ll want to be on top of for 2012.

Open peep toe wedge shoes were everywhere on the runways back in September. Think the big wedges of espadrilles but instead of a more closed top, you have ankle straps, a fully exposed top of the foot, and a peep toe front. It’s the kind of design that will catch the eye, be comfortable in the warmer weather, and be easy to walk in because of the wedge.

Stacked heels are in but not the shorter stacks we are used to seeing. We’re talking 5+ inch heels with a full, stacked look. If there’s a way to comfortably wear heels of that height, it’s with a thick heel that will support you far better than a stiletto. While stilettos will always be hot, it’s interesting to see the overall shying away to more comfortable and practical styles.

Bright sneakers were also seen on the runway for those who don’t want to wear fancy heels all the time. Marc Jacobs had some great pairs of chunky, multi-colored sneakers that really were a statement piece to a casual outfit. Color blocking in shoes is very big as well. Don’t just pick an all red pump, go with the shoe that has a red heel and beige toe, or something even brighter and with more colors. They’ll be everywhere in stores which makes a shoe easier to pair with more outfits considering the wide range of color options.

Loafers already hit the scene this fall but the ones for spring are more lightweight and worn sock-free and with a cute skirt. The colors are lighter, in whites and beiges as opposed to the dark browns and black of the fall.

Lastly, the pointy toe is back. Whether it’s pointy ankle boots or a crocodile patterned heel, you are going to see them everywhere. This is the type of shoe you really need to try on before purchasing because the wrong size can end up squeezing your toes together all day.

It’s already 2012 and we have been seeing a lot of upcoming trends that will keep our fashionable hearts thumping. However, since not all of us are blessed with a ginormous closet filled with beautiful garments, we can still be fashion forward with just a few items that are in this year. You can update your office wardrobe without having to bust your budget. Wanna know how? Here are some tips.

TRENDY 2012 FASHION TIPS FOR YOUR OFFICE WARDROBE

1. Go For Pastels

Spring 2012 is all about pastel shades, and so why not update your look with these? Pick items that are fit for your age and work area. Use crisp and streamlined designs. If you are in for an office casual look, you can choose a pastel colored blazer such as bubblegum pink and then put it over a neutral colored top and a pair of sleek jeans. Accessories will help pull the look together.

2. Orange Burst

Be a head turner with this year’s official color:orange. From tops to bags, this color evokes a really energetic vibe that will definitely be hard to miss at work. If you think that the color is too loud, opt for subtle shades. Try wearing an orange polkadot top and pair it with your favorite pants. Make it look more retro glam with accessories.

3. Nautical Beauty

This trend, which is popular during the summer time, can add a unique edge to your work wardrobe. A red top paired with white pants can make a lot of hearts flutter. Gold accessories like statement necklaces and bracelets will complete the look. You can also dress up a neutral top with a navy blue brass buttoned shirt for that sleek and crisp vibe.

4. Awesome Bold Prints

Bring this trend into the workplace by wearing items that give a not so loud statement. Tone down a loud printed top with a neutral colored bottom and blazer. Accentuate it with the use of simple accessories. You wouldn’t want to use equally loud statement pieces since your top is already a statement itself. If prints are not your thing, use statement accessories that have loud designs. It will spice up a boring outfit instantly!

As you can see, you can definitely pull off these trends by just looking around for whatever pieces you have in your closet. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on a new wardrobe. Being creative with your current wardrobe will surely help you transition into this years trends.

While we are still way into the middle of winter, bundled up in the thickest and warmest of coats, we may be thinking about the warmth and colorful promise of spring. As we are ushered into the new year, so are the upcoming fashion trends. Here are some of the hot fashion trends for spring of 2012.

HOT FASHION TRENDS FOR SPRING 2012

1. Geometric Color Blocking

Color blocking has been really famous in 2011, and it’s still going strong in 2012. However, we see a new twist into this trend by using different geometric patterns that make your outfits look more playful.

2. Print Overload

Prints will definitely make your outfit more interesting. Try mixing your solid colored clothes with printed pieces in order to give a more youthful and girly appearance. Remember that bigger prints make you look bigger. If you are a bit shorter in the height department (like me!), or a bit on the heavier side, going for more subtle prints is a safer alternative. If you are a bit adventurous with your style, then you can still experiment with different prints and textures. Continue reading

It’s January again: the World Fashion Week calendar is already in full swing and setting the trends for the coming year. With the Milan fashion week taking place in mid January, it’s a good time to take a look at the kinds of fashion trends that are going to be big in 2012. This year Prada focussed on its men’s collection, but with a twist. In addition to models, the autumn/winter 2012 collection was showcased using a number of famous British and American actors such as Gary Oldman and Jamie Bell. The aim of the designer’s approach was to create an image of powerful dressing, a collection representing man power. Its collection focussed on tailoring with many long, double breasted jackets cut to sit perfectly against the body.

Double-breasted jackets were also featured in other collections, with double-breasted blazers and suits being key items. New features were the oversized double-breasted blazer as well as the fitted, close-to-the body blazer. Prada teamed their suits or elegant jackets with simple turtlenecks, creating a more casual atmosphere, while others were worn with tuxedo shirts. Long overcoats were also key items in the show. What exactly do several a-list celebrities and passionate Hindu’s have in common? They are living the vegan lifestyle.

More and more people today than in the past are opting for the vegan life-style as vegan clothing fashion research has reveal that turning into vegan is “cool”, “hip”, “sexy” and “trendy”. This might be true however vegetable centered diet programs may also be extremely healthy, and a lot of people have opted to be vegan to benefit their own health. Vegetarians possess reduced total body weights, low levels of cholesterol, low blood pressure levels, in addition to reduce rates of cardiovascular disease and diabetic issues. Style developments for 2012 demonstrate that vegan clothing is scorching hawt haut between vegans and non vegans alike. Vegan outfits are highly affected by acclaimed vegans for example Ellen Degeneres as well as Pamela Anderson. Continue reading

The designers are releasing their Pre-Fall 2012 collections. Although not all of the major designers have unveiled their collections, some trends are already occurring on the runway. Here they are in random order:

1. FALL (IN LOVE WITH THE) COLORS

Finally! The acid bright days have died already. Time to channel your old western side and go rustic in your selection of colors (think of rust red, brown barks and camel tones, if you are still having difficulty, think of the colors of the fall!). Not only does this give you a more down to earth yet structured theme, it also prepares you for the coming chill ahead! (Fact: Warm and dark colors keep you warm better than lighter tones.)

2.  Gray is the new black

Gray is back in fashion. After a very long AWOL, the fashion industry has revived the love for the color gray to bring back a sense of sophistication and grounding that the runways have been missing. If you have been observing, 2011 has always been about the outrageous, sometimes eye-cringing outfits, 2012 seems to be calming down. Another off-shoot trend from this is that there is a boom for corporate-looking outfits and straight cut silhouettes. Continue reading
